Ways the Denver Broncos and their malleable QB could stop the Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar and following last week's discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the amount of infractions each conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments so they kind of defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have that deficit before lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not always sending more than four defenders but they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended last season well then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big and new RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a squad that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths are his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, as well as using varied release points to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great poise under pressure and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the area vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends on what version of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
