The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Dominance

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 match record, and earned a historic £11m in prize money.

She earned almost eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".

Additional WTA Award Honorees

• Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, received the award after taking extended hiatus following the arrival of her daughter and returning to the sport earlier this season.
• Newcomer of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko received the award after beginning the season positioned outside the world's top 300 and rising to world number 18.
• Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after capturing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after advancing to five finals.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz took home three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third consecutive time.
