Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, however can the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
