Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.
Official Complaints Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
