Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
